While the city isn't doing much to update their website with information about council and agency meetings, news does seem to trickle out here and there. The latest came from The Courier, where we learn that the developers for the Hampton Inn & Suites have withdrawn from the project. Their original design (which was not on the lot originally assigned to them, but rather one of a different shape and location per the DDA's decision) was rejected, and the effort to make the design fit the new layout fell through. The master plan still calls for that site to be a hotel, and there are two developers that are showing some interest.
