So, I needed a new driver's license. Our realtor said we should drive to Canon City to avoid the crowds in the Springs. Naw, we thought. How bad could it be if we got there early? So we showed up around 9:30 (would have been earlier if not for some baby issues). They were on number 156. We waited in line to talk to the receptionist and get a number. Fifteen minutes after we arrived, they were on 157. The small room was absolutely packed with people, all the chairs were full and people were standing around. Our number was 252. We left, and drove to the office in Canon City, where it took about an hour including waiting time. We drove back to Woodland Park by taking 9 west out of Canon City, then cutting north and following signs for Cripple Creek until we got to, umm, well, I don't really know, but at a 'T' intersection we turned left towards Florissant instead of right towards Cripple Creek, and that took us right to highway 24 (there was an additional shortcut we could have taken, but the road wasn't well marked and we let our doubt cloud our judgement...should've taken it, as it turns out).
