Colorado officials have agreed to not interfere with the natural migration of wolves from Yellowstone into Colorado, unless they create trouble such as killing livestock. Like the ongoing wolf debate in Oregon, this is a compromise, overly harsh to the wolves (which would be killed if they kill livestock), and perfectly fair to the ranchers, who would be compensated for livestock killed by wolves. Does this mean we'll see wolves howling in the moonlight on Pike's Peak? Not likely. Yellowstone is a long ways away, and I-70 stands between the wolves and much of Colorado, sure to keep them mainly in the northern part of the state for some time. Read more here.
